A few weeks ago I started a home based business with Visalus. I wanted to spend a few minutes sharing with you how to make money in your first 30 days with this dynamic company.

Challenge parties are the simplest way to get both customers and promoters within your business, and you will need both. The 3 for FREE offer makes attaining customers so much easier. The principle here is that when you find 3 people to join in on their own challenge with you and purchase their own kit of equal or higher value then yours will be free, as long as you have the 3 this will continue each month.

So lets talk about how to earn $500+ in a week. By signing on 3 promoters within your first 30 days you become a rising star. Promoters want to be on a n executive success system or higher. This includes products and business tools in order to help maximize success in a shorter time frame. So what does rising star mean?

This is a bonus for getting to director in 30 days or less. As well as a compensation plan designed by the company to promote your success. This particular plan allows you to be enrolled in the weekly bonus pools every time you sign on 3 customers or promoters on a Friday to Thursday cycle. So as an example: Jon signed up 3 customers this week, he gets to be in the bonus pool, ON TOP of his sales volume income. So he would receive an additional minimum pay of $75 that week simply in bonus pay.

As a rising star Jon who also signed up 3 promoters this week on a ess or higher, now recieves $100
for each sign up. Only by becoming a rising star director do you have the opportunity for the weekly bonus pools. And every time you sponsor 3 customers or 3 promoters in a Thursday to Friday cycle, you go into the enrollers bonus pool with a minimum payout of $75+. ( the + really is a + ) so this bonus happens again and again. There is also a one off rising star bonus pool when you first hit - that again awards minimum of $75. Remember customers will be paid out as monthly commissions. Promoter will be paid out as weekly bonus. 3 customers in a 1 week cycle do qualify you for a bonus payout of $75+ but only if you hit rising star director in your first 30days. So this is how Jon's week would look.

3 New promoters = $300
Rising star bonus (1time) 75+
Enrollers bonus pool= 75+
Sales commissions still to be factored in.

So that's $525 + additional income for the week not including his sales commissions!

Going rising star is the quickest way to earn back your investment of the executive success system. From here your team will help you reach regional director and get BMW qualified.

Are you ready to take the challenge?

HI guys,
concealer can be one of those tricky makeup tasks! Whether its how to find the right shade, or what texture you need to cover which imperfection it can all seem a little daunting. So i hope this post sheds some light on the subject.

Why do we need concealer and what is its function?
Some of you wont need it, others will swear by it. Basically concealer is a more pigmented version of foundation, which comes in multiple textures for different jobs. If you have pretty good skin minus some under-eye bags or a pimple here or there then concealer will be your best friend in achieving that "no-makeup look". I love to just use a concealer on the "flaws" and blend into the skin for people that have great skin and want to look naturally flawless. NO foundation needed! Set with some translucent powder over the whole face and your good to go. (Maybe add some mascara and lip gloss to finish the look..:) )

Concealer can be used to cover and alter under eye circles (bags, which usually have a blue-purple or green tint.) A salmon colored concealer in a gel or other light weight texture works best in this area to avoid creasing ! Which is NOT a good look. So look for peachy hues in this instance. Check out Eve pearl salmon concealer, or a luminous pen in a peach shade try lancome, clinique, or L'Oreal for some great options.

For spot, scar or birthmark coverage then you may want something a little thicker textured. I love Napoleon Perdis pro-palette for this. As well as L'Oreal true match. These products will be heavy enough to cover and once set with powder wont budge. Be sure and pick a skin true tone! You dont want anything darker or lighter in this instance.

If you are one of those people who are blessed with NO under eye bags OR blemishes, then you may want to use concealer as a highlight. (As may the rest of us that are simply faking perfect under eyes and blemish free skin!) In this situation you do want to find a concealer that is a few shades lighter than your skin and use it in the triangular shape under your eye area (as demonstrated in the video link) and anywhere else you want to highlight or bring forward the face. I again love L'Oreal true match for this, or any illuminating pen. Top of the line YSL...right through to maybelline! You can all find one that suits your budget.

SO now your even more confused? Well bottom line we can all use one concealer that is skin tone and good to cover pimples or random issues, and we can almost always use something brightening and peachy colored (more orange if you have dark skin) for the under eye area. I use my lancome tient miracle pen as both a corrector and a highlight.

well my friends i hope this has been informative. Be blessed, and know that you are all empowered to give to the world whatever gifts have been bestowed on you!
HI friends, this has been one hectic start to the week!!
After work Sunday evening i was called to the emergency ward at the children's hospital due to an accident that occurred on a water-slide involving my daughter and her friend. One ambulance ride, several hours and multiple tests later, we are sent on our way with reports of whiplash, concussion and a neck brace.
Awesome way to start the week. On a plus note my daughter is ok and it could have been far worse.
So Monday i played mummy. I cooked, spring cleaned, made all the necessary phone calls, edited some vids and in general just made sure i was here to keep tabs on my child (who needed plenty of rest.)
Roll around Tuesday and its modelling for MAC day...YAY! So after arranging a carer for my child. I am off to Polaris to visit the MAC store and be a model for my friend and MAC business manager-Habby.
This was a great day and i learnt some useful techniques and i am sure that Habby learnt a lot too. Such things as: how to fix eyebrows that don't even appear related. What color to use to contour my pasty skin that magically got a few shades darker and is now in between shades! (hahah) Poor Hab's, i know it was challenging. Oh, and covering one of my tattoos too, she did super well on that one!We did have a great time.

Winding up Tuesday we had a bite to eat at "the pub". i'm sure you can all imagine how excited i got when i saw a place like this in my town!!!
Then off to collect my baby girl and take her to school for a performance, and boy oh boy was it crazy town at the school?! I thought i had walked into a rave filled with infants on speed!!! It was nuts. Smoke machines, strobe lighting, confetti guns, and music so loud you couldn't hear yourself think. I LOVED IT....:)
watching my little girl (who ironically towers over everyone else) do her "i'm country and i know it" dance...just cracked me up!! let me see if i can post a video or at-least some pics of this day. But for now here is the link to that awesome song if you want to check it out...:)

And here we are at the end of Wednesday already! Today has been filled with more of the same mothering and phone calls tomorrow its back to work. And hopefully a half day of school for my big baby. :) She is doing much better, but we are taking things easy.

be blessed,
HI friends,
lately i have been loving soft smokey grey and champagne colored smokey eyes. I think this look is so versatile and beautiful. In the pictures i show a simple way with lip color to change the look completely from daytime elegance to night time glamorous! Now i will admit ms Kandy Johnson did inspire this look so it is alittle similar to her wedding makeup tutorial (she is the bomb, and you can check her out here :Shttp://www.youtube.com/user/kandeejohnson) now lets get on with how to do the look! all images are posted in instagram so be sure to check them out!

http://instagram.com/p/ZeTnZ1K62Q/

step one:
prime the lids and wash them completely with a flat pale shade (try yoghurt from or brulee from MAC)

Step two:
define the crease using a matte or a satin grey or medium brown shade (try scene or copperplate from MAC)

step three:
use a pale shimmery champagne color to wash the inner corner of the eye (try makeupgeek in shimmer shimmer, or naked lunch by MAC)

step four:
using a dark grey wash the outer third of the eye in the v- sweeping it into the center of the eye to fade out the color. (try typegraphic by MAC)

Step five:
Use a slightly warmer brown, burgundy or taupe with a hint of shimmer to go over the dark grey and warm it up a tad. (try satin taupe by MAC or burlesque by makeupgeek)

step six:
line the upper lash line with a black liquid liner ( i love elf's liner and its only $1!!!!!)

step seven:
go over the line with a matte black shadow (my fav is by makeupgeek in corrupt)

step eight:
wash the inner eye area to the outter v in the champagne color again to soften the effect, and rimm the lower and upper waterlines with black gel liner. (my pick is by essence, its cheap, gelish and it last so well!) I let it dry then re-coat for added staying power, and set with the black eyeshadow over top.

step nine:
line the lower eye with a blend of the dark grey and the crease blending color you used in the beginning., this gives a soft defused liner effect.

step ten: prime and mascara the lashes upper and lower. Two coats. (try lancome cils booster xl and hypnose drama, for daring lashes)

for the lips during the day i choose a pale nude mouth. My all time favorite nude is by lancome and ironically its called "pale lip" in the color design range.

to spice things up for the evening try a bold redlip i love love love "ruby woo" from MAC with "cherry" lip liner.

I hope you all have fun re-creating this look, and here are the links to the products mentioned.

Be blessed,
I have been here in the US for about 10days. Over this time in all honesty I have been getting the kids school stuff sorted and enjoying some family time.
Social security numbers came this week so now I can get started on getting my US driving license and work out how I want to spend my days. But for now it's involved wifely duties and plenty of basking in the sun. Oh well ok, there has been a little time spent on my fav tv shows too...waking the dead giving me my zombie fix, and the kardashians.

Something I'm not used to here is the lack of freedom to simply walk to the local shops. although I still do it, everyone thinks I am mad.

So here is a real quick run down of some more of my observations of middle America
People are not used to being asked questions, and often laugh at you like your stupid if you ask something they think you should know. well the time has finally arrived! My kids and i are living in OHIO. It has been a crazy few months transitioning from Australia to the US, but we made it.
Its been about a week since we arrived and already the kids are enrolled in school.Which starts the new school year next week. My youngest being in grade 2 at a prepatory academy. Her uniform consists of polo shirts in either white, sky blue, navy, or lemon. Pants/skirts or shorts in khaki or navy. I think she will come home wore out the first week or so. Her day has to start on the school bus at 6.15am. And yes the bus looks exactly like the ones in the movies!
My eldest is a freshman in high school. And i am pleasantly surprised by the number of hours spent in school. The average day beginning at 7.45am and finishing at 3pm. With only a 50min break for lunch. NO recess! I think this is going to be a shock for her to begin with. Her school is new,and i was having such a good time looking through it all. With its shiney lino flooring, lockered walls, the lacquered gym floors with stadium seating. Not to mention the theatre room which looks more impressive than the professional one in my last town. The school is one big building, which i like alot. The doors lock once school starts, and to go to the bathroom you need a hall pass. Oh and there is a navy training program through the school as an elective - cool huh? And lastly an impressive trophy case!!! No one gets in, without going through the office and getting a photo id. So i do feel safe with my kids schools. I so wish i could upload the pictures i have to go with this blog...argh.
The weather here is perfect. It reminds me of spring in Port Macquarie. The birds are thriving in all the trees. The houses have yards and space between. And there is a general feeling of space here. Considering all the people, i am once again surprised i feel that way.
My husband and i have a blended family, and i am impressed at how everyone is getting along so well. what i am not so impressed with is how my eldest child has already lost her aussie accent! Laughs i guess thats typical for a teenager though. I too left my home country at her age to move to australia, so i know first hand what this type of thing is like. And they are adjusting very well.
Already the kids have been shopping, gone to the biggest roller coaster theme park ever for them, been hiking through caves in the woods, and today we are all going to head out to visit with family in the country. Perfect day for swimming, camping and picnicking. Ahhh....the past year of waiting has been more than worth it...and its still so surreal for me to think about actually being here.

blissfully content with my new life...
I began by learning to see the positive over the negative. Then i started to use up-building self-talk. After this i began to implement the ability to dream beyond what my circumstances told me. All of these things definitely went a long way to impact my life for the better.

But something was still missing, the missing link between holding these habits and practices in the forefront of my mind, and being able to walk in the victory on a daily basis. What i would find was i would be good for a day or two, then forget for a day or two, repeat cycle.

It was an endless source of frustration to me to know that i was a born again christian who had all the abundance of life's gifts inside me to manifest, yet how was it i could get STUCK, more than ever despite my best intentions?

Gratitude one little word with an endless source of power. I have been doing a little study on this subject of late and have found it to be a hot topic among philosophers, theologians and religious leaders alike.

How much of our lives are we truly being grateful for? I think if anyone of us were asked this question - we would all think we are doing pretty well at being grateful. But if someone was to record our conversations or our thoughts for a day - i think we would be shocked to KNOW the truth. Being grateful and living in gratitude means we have no space in our minds, or hearts for negativity, anger, resentment, greed, lust, and almost any other negative emotion you could think of.

That is a big call! One little thing, having the capabilities to revolutionize the way our entire minds function and every circumstance that comes our way...But i can tell you this. Since i have begun to apply the art of gratitude to my life in every single aspect INCLUDING finding the good in the bad, and speaking it out. My life is changing. I just don't see the bad as often, i don't get as emotional over things as i once did, and i am more and more appreciative of what i have - which in turn brings about more and more to be grateful for. Its a win win.

I became acutely aware of just how easy it was to live in ungratefulness. I don't think any of us choose this place, its just a slump that happens when we forget to be thankful for the good every single day.

Some of the traits that are displayed when we are taking our life for granted are things such as:
-complaining
-negative thoughts
-negative words

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE NEGATIVE WHEN WE ARE GRATEFUL.

small statement - huge impact.

How can we take steps to be more grateful everyday?
Focus each morning on all the things in your life that you can be grateful for - there are hundreds no matter who you are, or what your situation!
Think over these things and express your thanks for them, before you know it you will have this over whelming feeling of joy building on the inside. I promise you! There are so many simple things we can take for granted even something as small (or HUGE) as water...

Water is the life force of this existence. Yet how easy is it to take it for granted?

So, if like me are you are looking for the missing link to living in the joy of life every single day, no matter what life throws at you. Then the answer may just lie in learning to think and express your gratitude everyday for all your blessings, no matter how big or small.!!!

Be blessed, because chances are you are more blessed than you know

To cut along story short its about the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. It's celebrated by lot of major religious groups, and is the widest recognized holiday of a saint, in the world.

FUN FACT: Originally the color blue was used in recognition of this day!!!

But with the popularity of such things as green ribbons and shamrocks (three leaf clovers) which were used to explain the "trinity" to the pagans, the green tradition as we know it came about.

So here is the perfect excuse to add a little green to your attire tomorrow. Whether it be in the form of; makeup, dying your local river, or letting off green smoke bombs. (which i don't recommend) Perhaps something alittle easier like a scarf, or earrings.

So those of you that don't know, this fantastic book series is about to become the next teen movie sensation.
To cut a long story short - 24 people (1 male and 1 female from each district 1-12) get selected to play in a battle to the death, winner getting a life of luxury and celebrity status. Catch - the players are aged 12-18, and they are drawn from a lottery. The capital, a excessive community of decadence and superiority is in charge of this "entertaining battle that is televised live".

Sounds a little morbid i know, but a truly interesting read. And has a detailed focus on it main characters.
For me being a makeup artist i have been impatiently waiting to see the faces, and the fashions of "the capitol".
And they have not disappointed. Its was a fine line between creating something visually bold and interesting - without changing the somber mood of the city itself.

Over the next few weeks i intend to re-create a few capital inspired creations myself. In the meantime here is a sneak peek at some of the looks in the movie.
So today i am going to share with three of my top DIY alternatives.

SKIN CARE:
OLIVE OIL/SUGAR SCRUB - for all skin types

For me exfoliating is apart of my everyday. And i have been using this simple formula for years with great success.

1.mix together olive oil and granulated sugar. (the finer the better) Just enough to do your face, i never really make exact measurements. You just want to be able to make a grainy paste i suppose.
2.Rub this over your whole face (avoiding eye area), in circular motions. Concentrating on corners of the nose, chin and forehead, anywhere that is feeling dry or looking dull could use some extra attention.
3.Wash off with warm water, and not only is your face clean, but it is also super smooth and soft.

I find that i don't need to moisturize after this treatment as i use it before sleep. If your skin is very dry then you could definitely use a moisturizer on top. My skin is in the normal to dry range. If you have oily skin, you may want to wash this off a second time, just to make sure any residual oil is removed but do it with water only, even oily skin will benefit from some moisture. I have found that oils don't clog pores like one would think. Its more the oils found in heavier creams that cause problems on oily skin. Most times i use olive oil on clients it soaks in and revels beautiful supple glowing skin without looking or feeling like it has a film of oil on top. So go ahead and try this one!

BAKING SODA SCRUB - best suited for normal to oily skin types

1.mix 3 parts baking soda with one part water, or your regular gentle cleanser.
2.Rub onto face in circular motions
4.Rinse off

This is great for minimizing the appearance of pores and for giving the skin a deep clean. This isn't something i would do daily, but certainly one a week would be a great addition to ones beauty routine. Not drying, and leaves the skin soft and smooth. This concept has been around for generations.

DIY LIP BALM

2 tsp. almond oil

I'm not usually one to fall into wearing the mustard's, Forrest green and burgundy. BUT with all the extremely cute fashion in these hues its hard not to find something one would like.

SO lets talk make up trends for autumn.

BOLD BERRY LIPS - this one never gets old, and for most of us no matter what our complexion tone we can find something that suits. Pair it with bronze smokey eyes for a night, or just a subtle hit of smudged liner in a metallic brown/gold for the day. Keeping the lashes strong and polished suits this look.

OLIVE EYE SHADOW - this one also not as tricky as it sounds, imagine soft metallic greens, or warm matte tones blended with browns, in smoked out silhouettes. A little smudged eyeliner and your done.

PURPLE LIPS - ok so this may be for the more adventurous of us...if your game anything from deep violet, to crimson/black will work. Be sure and keep the eyes neutral for this one to work. Although having said that i am always one to recommend eyelashes and eyebrows are done, as i think there can be something a little alienish about dark lips and no eyelashes/eyebrows!

SIXTY'S MAKEUP - think twiggy, huge focus on eyes lashes, matte textures, whites and black. Matte pink lips. I love this look and find it a refreshing change. i am also really excited about the sixty's fashion that's making an appearance. This look takes aittle practice but is well worth the effort. I have a sixty's inspired tutorial on my youtube channel (joannamarie77), if you want some tips.

I have been wanting to do this review for awhile. So here it is.

Makeup geek eye shadows-

These were a concept from makeup geek creator Marlena. And you can tell they are made by a makeup artist. They are made of high quality ingredients, and the color payoff (or pigment )is very intense on almost all shades.

Initially I purchased 11 shadows in shades that i found were missing from my collection.

I have to say i am impressed. The packaging is great. The size is generous, and the continuity is good. I found one or two of the shades were alittle harder to move...what that means is they aren't as smooth to place and blend. Having more of a "place and stay" mentality. I think this could be ironed out by using a primer. I haven't re-tried those ones with a primer yet, but i will do that and let you know if its any better.

The range of shades are great, and the variety of finishes is also very good. As a makeup artist i value my matte shades as much as my shimmer finishes.

I especially love the plums/purples and grey tones in Marlena's range as i was having a hard time finding matte versions of those colors.

Top picks :
MATTE FINISH
fiji - a super smooth, matte apple green.
fairytale - a matte lavender
stealth - a matte grey (this one i find alittle harder to blend as its one of the stay colors i mentioned)
preppy - a beautiful olive/tan brown
unexpected - this one i would call a matte mauve (it has a dusty pink/purple/mushroom color mix)
Corrupt - THE BLACKEST MATTE BLACK EVER.

SIMMER FINISH
moondust - a gorgeous cool toned shimmery taupe/silver
shimma shimma - great champagne shimmer
burlesque - a beautiful rusty burgundy tone.

left -right: Fiji, stealth, fairytale, shimma shimma, moondust, burlesque

Bottom to top: peacock, corrupt, unexpected, preppy, taupe notch

there are plenty more shades to choose from and i am sure there are lot more wonderful nuetrals, but seeing as i have an abundance of those i wont be getting amy until i run out of my current supplies.

Here is a look i created using: unexpected, fairytale, steath, and corrupt.

I can say that i am very pleased with the quality and size for the price. And that i will be purchasing the full- range at some point. If you are looking for professional quality eyeshadows - at a reasonable price, with a stunning colour range. I suggest you check out marlena's site.Bear in mind the shadow come in refill format, so you will need something to store them in. I use Z palettes, as they are study, magnetic, easy, and have a see-through top. You can find these at the makeup geek store too. Please note i am in no way affiliated with makeup geek, i give honest reviews based on my personal findings and i am not endorsed to do so.

Neural pathways

I have come across some very interesting findings. I will share the ones i can make sense of to explain.
Here is a huge statement....

96-98% of all our pre programmed behaviors and actions are created and played out through our subconscious mind!

So what does this actually mean?

It means that only 2-4% of our thinking can have any affect on the things the mind has been conditioned to believe and accept through repeated training, and experience. That means WILL POWER has very, very little to do with accomplishing anything.

And in order to change the external patterns (that are the actions of our lives) we have to change the internal system...its like trying to cut a tomato with a spoon...the wrong tools wont give you the desired results. When we focus on trying to change things in our life by using our conscious thinking when our "unconscious thinking" is programmed to REJECT that new way of thinking...we can spend a lifetime going round in circles getting stressed out not seeing the kinds of results that others practicing the same kinds of POSITIVE thinking CAN achieve!
Neurological pathways Left/Right Brain Synchrony

There is truth in the saying you have what you think you have, and you are what you believe you are. These thinking's have impacted and shaped the self belief network in our minds. And some of us are happy with the way they are...and some of us are not. Many of us sit in our comfort zone, for fear of failing. But what if i told you that all you had to do was start reconditioning your thinking to coincide with what you wanted in life...and then after a period of time (some say it takes the brain 30-90days to re-hard wire its neurons to accept these new subconscious beliefs.) You would automatically be seeking and attracting like minded things into your life?! Ten years ago we didn't have the tools required to see into the mind in the ways we can now. And it has been proven that new neurological pathways can be self created when the right thinking in the right mental state is repeated...which means that everyone of us, is able to re-wire our subconsciousness thinking...almost like self hypnosis without the hoopla.

I am very much a product of this thinking. And anyone that has witnessed the profound changes in my limited self beliefs and the fruits of this powerful, positive thinking over the past 4 yrs is testament to this. And yes, i have a relationship with Christ that has in fact changed my life. I do believe God gave us the power of our thinking to be used in more useful and purpose driven ways than many of us choose to use it. The mind is the most powerful tool on this planet...and its available to every single one of us to grow, and train and use for the better.

So if your stuck in the rut of life and cant see a way out, think about that for just a moment....what are you thinking about? Anything is possible in this life, anything you dream CAN become your reality, you just have to train your mind to believe it, and create the action plan needed to achieve it. How many times do you find yourself accepting mediocrity, when you really want nothing more than extraordinary!?
And i thought i would share with you my findings. Do bere in mind that sessions are supposed to be anywhere from 6 + for major results.

BEFORE LASER RESULTS

6 WK RESULTS

Pores:
definitely more refined! Very happy about that especially on the sides of my nose, forehead and chin.

Freckles:
A little lighter, but not a big difference.

Redness:
About 25% reduction. So overall this is very pleasing.

Birthmark:
About a 25% reduction in pigmentation also.

Wrinkles:
Less obvious, more plumped out due to the increase of collagen produced in the epidermis.

Skin texture and clarity:
Vastly improved in just one sitting. Skin is firmer, and more refined, tone seems more even.

Dark freckles, and sun spots:
All fell off within the first week! awesome, and so long as i apply sunscreen regularly these shouldn't re-appear.

Thing about overall redness is its harder for the laser to find. As opposed to say a broken capillary, which is very easy and reduction is very drastic even initially. So for me to attain the results i want a few more sessions are on the cards.

AFTER
But seeing as i cant do that as often as i like, i can atleast look like i am.

Here is one of my favorite summer makeup looks featuring ocean blues and greens and light golden sand tones.

I started by (as always) priming my eyelid. This time using urban decay primer potion.

Then put a neutral shade over the whole lid - i used Pink cheeks by Too faced cosmetics

Use a taupe shade to define the crease.

Put a golden highlight color in the inner corner and underneath

Take a turquoise shade (i'm using one from the creative me #1 palette from coastal scents)

Add depth by using a deeper blue, slightly under the turquoise and blend the shades together. (again i am using a shade from the creative me palette in royal blue) Use this to line under the eye also.

Use the deepest blue to add a tiny bit more depth to corner edge and undereye only, and blend into other shades.

Next using a shimmery sand color (i am using NP ultra pearl in 37) to wipe over the middle section of the eyelid, blending lightly into both corners.

Using a black liquid liner, draw a thin line close to upper lashes. And apply a turquoise or blue liner to the inner waterline.

Soften up any harsh lines or fall out with a large fluffy brush and a very pale matte shade. Taking the color around the edges of the entire eye. Using a cotton tip and concealer to clean up any fall out.

Apply mascara, and coat lips with a beige lipstick, blot, then smooth on some peach toned lip gloss.

And we're done, a hot summer evening look that's loads of fun! Btw i don't know why my eyebrows look so orange in this shot, must have been my high class lighting equipment (good ol' heat lamps!) HA

Be blessed, and enjoy the great Aussie summers!

And where not nessecarily talking your vintage hundreds of dollar variety. Wine like many things is often about personal choice and appreciation. And i certainly have my favorites!

Whites:
The main difference here between red and white varieties is the absence of "tannin" which comes from the skin of the grape. Its the Tannin that creates a strong astringent type taste when one has had too much, and some types have this strong aftertaste initially too.

I am not going to go into chardonnay's, although they are considered the most popular whites. I have a preference for something less woody or oaken in taste.

Sauvignon blanc

This is my favorite of the wines, to me its light, fresh and crisp without being too strong in it flavor. It can range in from very grassy to being very tropical. It is one of the best wines to pair with seafood, cheese and sushi. My current favorite is a little drop from New Zealand called Squealing pig.

http://www.tweglobal.com/our-brands/australia-new-zealand/squealing-pig/

I am also a huge fan of a good semillon. Something youthful and more mineral and acidic in its finish. Local winery Cassegrain do a great semillon.

Then for a cheaper option of a white, and i mean really cheap! Here in Australia you can get them for under $5 a bottle. I have to say i am partial to the Gossips range.

The reds don't have an abundance of preservatives causing headaches, and the whites don't taste like pee!

So if your looking for something on a budget, check them out. And i like all the reds in this range. I am a more serious drinker these days preferring something dry over the passion pop of my youth.

http://www.winelistaustralia.com.au/wineShow.php?pid=1097

and there you have my top picks for wine. What do you guys like?

I wanted to share about something that was talked about this morning and that has been a huge part of my walk this past year.

Accepting gods gifts -
The biggest thing god ever did for us was everything. He gave us his WORD (his direction for living a rewarding life on this planet). He gave us his son as atonement for our fallen flesh. And with this gift of his son came everything we would ever need to have the life that god desired for us to have while we are fleshly creatures. And its the PACKAGE of this gift i want to spend a moment talking about.

BUT BEFORE i get to that, there is a very important point i want to stress. A point that has changed my life.
My love, my life, my actions are not suffient to gain gods favor. Not anyone of us can work our way to the heart of god. Its like asking the poorest person in the world to give all their worldly possessions to the king of the country. Our love is fraught with human frailty, emotional instability, and selfish intent. That is the sinful nature of fallen flesh. This is who we are!

God KNOWS who we are, he gave us a lifeline in his PERFECT son. God doesn't want us to give him our works. What god wants of us is to RECIEVE his perfect, never ending, unconditional love. That right there is how we please god.

ACCEPTING and RECEIVING the death and resurrection of his son, to set us free from the condemnation of our fallen flesh. Is how we truly honor god.

John, was the only disciple who truly got how much Christ loved him. It wasn't a case of Christ loving him more. It was simply that John got it, and didn't let the condemnation of fallen flesh take away from the perfect love of God. What a wonderful place to sit. In all assurity of gods unfailing, love for each and everyone of us!

The ultimate Gift From God - EVERYTHING

God doesn't have more to give us. Asking god for his blessings is redundant. God has poured out his blessings on all of mankind. But how many of us have really received them?
With Christs death came a huge PACKAGE - it contains: endless health, abundance in all things, blessings, instruction on how to get the most from life on earth, forgiveness, redemption a list too big to cover. Refer to the bible for each and everyone of God's promises to YOU, and by accepting that GOD cannot lie...claim each one of these things for your life.

The catch - YOUR LIFE. haha, I'm not kidding. The good news?

Its your old life god wants. When we come to accept Christ as our savior in order to receive all he has to give us - we have to make some room. Its like as my pastor would say :"god wants to give you a shiny new car, but you cant put it into your garage unless you move out the old car."

Some of us want the new car and the old car. But this isn't really living in the victory of what Christ has given us.

What does it mean to give our life?

it means to understand that while we are imperfect, we strive to understand how gods method of living is and put that into practice in our life. REMEMBER gods grace covers our sinful nature, our sinful past, present and future. God wants us to take the "shiny new life" filled with all his blessings and use it to have the life of our dreams. But this is our choice. While its what god wants for us, its up to us individually to accept and RECEIVE.

I have realized that many Christians including myself - were good at accepting, but horrible at receiving. Always allowing the condemnation of a past interfere with the blessings of a future.

Its by resting in god and his promises for us, that allows those blessings of the received package to manifest into physical realities. But when we are busy trying to prove things to god by our works, we are blocking the manifesting of his blessings that have ALREADY been poured, and are waiting for us.

So i encourage you all to seek god, and learn of his love for you. A love that surpasses any you have known. A love that never strays, that is always pure and that will sustain a lifetime. Don't fall into the trap of feeling unworthy, shamed, and condemned. These are simply traps from this worldly system to stop us believing that Gods love covers everything. And that its ours, no matter where you are in your walk. God loves the criminal as much as the priest. God's love is not bias. God only wants each and everyone of us to receive, and live our life as it was designed. That is the true nature of God's love.

Be blessed,

disclaimer: these are my personal interpretations of scriptural principles based on study and biblical teaching from faith friends church. I am sharing something that has set me free from religiosity within my walk. I do respect the view point of others, and am in no-way putting down differing belief systems.
From the moment i laid my eyes on my husband casually laying on my bed, to the heart wrenching moment our hands left one another as he departed. It was a week filled with magic, and memories and confirmation that the type of love we have for one another is beyond any that we have ever known! What a true blessing.

OK, but i wont bore you all with the lovey dovey. But i will spend a moment or two letting you all know some of the differences between our cultures as seen and commented on by my hubby.

1.The clean air...and the fresh salty smell of being right beside the ocean (without having the pollution of a city nearby)

2. The fact that the beaches here (in port macquarie) are:
A. not covered in trash, infact you hardly see any.
B. Very underpopulated in the peak of tourist season.
By comparison alot of his knowledge of american beaches are to quote a phrase, "breathe and you smell the arse of the person next to you", kind of populated!

3. We don't have the kind of poverty they do in the US, mostly good old governement assistance and also the fact that while the cost of living maybe higher. Every person has the opportunity to earn a good wage. A person here working in a supermarket would indeed be able to support his family. Not so much the case in the US.

4. People in Australia have a more carefree, positive demeanor.

5. The service industry SUCKS...one thing to be said for tips is people work for their money, in our country the meaning of service is rarely known unless you are paying top dollar for your meal. In the US no-one stands around at a bar waiting to order a drink at a restaurant or cafe. I think i am a huge huge fan of this. And look out port Mac if we decide to open anything competitive here!

6. Even in the towns that are coastal you will still pay top dollar for seafood....go figure?!

Overall my husband thinks he is an Australian at heart, and it took less than 6 days for him to fall in love with this country...warts and all. And this was a huge shock to me...as i am sure that your all aware ALL Americans think america is the only place that's got it all. And maybe to some degree they do. But you know what...i'd take alittle less that all for the peaceful and relaxed Aussie lifestyle any day. And i think He would too.

Sunburn, thongs (the kind you wear on your feet), and lazy summer dayz,
It all started several days ago when i committed myself to the belief that somehow i was going to find away for my husband to come to Australia for Christmas.

Hubby and i only had one condition, it couldn't be a trip that we went into debt over. Seeing as this time of year is financially stressful and, not to mention the cost of flights on Christmas day, and the fact we had 3 days to come up with the money...things were looking impossible at best. None of the major contractors from my business were going to have paid their dues by the end of the month, and by this point all hope appeared to have faded.

But....i refused to let go of my faith, in fact i was so certain that god would find away i wanted my hubby to get things sorted his end. I researched flights and prayed my little heart out to god, thanking him for allowing me my husband, and reminding him of all the promises of his word. i was so moved and teary for what seemed like a 2 whole days. I was Ernest in my requests, sitting in praise and expectancy. Praying that god would put it into the heart of someone to give us that cash.

It was a day ago that i was busy sending an online gift to my husband, that i checked my bank account not really thinking. And BAM...there is was in bold 5 digit numbers the answer to my prayer, the miracle i had been seeking. The government had underpaid me for the year and as such owed me a lump sum of money (which i didn't know was going to happen)...this was more than enough to cover my husbands trip.

I was flooded with emotion, weeping and praising god. What a wonderful wonderful moment for us...i will never forget that moment my whole lifetime. God is so faithful, and for being prepared to make a fool of my flesh for god....he rewarded my faith in him.

Now i get to share something wonderful with my husband, his first trip to Australia...and our first Christmas together.

And it all came to a beautiful peak with the wedding of my best girl friend DIANA.
She met her beau on E-harmony (he's from England), and through loads of communication...fell in love.
I think its beautiful. They have a load of things in common, and are just so super happy. Its lovely to have second chances at love over 40. I must say i am a huge fan of E-harmony (obviously having met my man that way too)
and i am almost tempted to make my children date that way from the very beginning! Haha.

well not much else to say other than of course i did makeup, and i was bridesmaid!!!
the only bitter sweet part of the whole day was that my husband was not by my side. But not for too much longer...

PERSONAL:
My kids are all off enjoying their holidays in various Australian states, and i am here in rainy NSW tying up loose ends. my best friend (apart from my husband) is getting married on Saturday and i am still preparing my speech. Of course speaking from the heart is best, but there are times when notes are necessary! I love that at the second half of her life she is getting another shot at happily ever after...we all deserve that, and i am so proud to be sharing in this beautiful moment with her...god bless E-harmony.

BEAUTY/MAKEUP:
It has been 2 weeks since my first KTP laser session, and my skin is definately less pigmented, less flushed naturally, and my pore size has been reduced. YAY...all after 1 treatment. I am so looking forward to seeing the results of a few more.

My shipment of Eve pearl cosmetics arrived. I ordered; (after much research) the concealer palette, and the HD foundations, in light-medium and tan, the eyeliner pen, a blush trio and black eyelash glue (as i was out) and the skin primer with Astaxanthin, a natural sunscreen

These products have a huge reputation! And i was eager to find something that stood up to the challenge of being non-drying, non-oily, good for the skin, and high coverage. So far so good, but i will give you all an honest review in another week or so.

Totally happy with my online shoe purchases, and the sizing is perfect. Although i must say my purple suede platform stilettos are rather sky scraper...lets hope i don't have a runway moment down the isle!

well, off to enjoy the last of my days off till christmas...

be blessed,
laugh like your life depends on it...love like you haven't a moment more, and be kind to one another simply because being nice makes your heart glow.
I thought i would share with you all my latest indulgences, (husband you can feel free to shut your eyes right about now....:):):) )

firstly in my defense; i left the shoes i would be wearing to my friends wedding (my patent nude pumps think Victoria Beckham), in my husbands closet...(darling you best be getting some serious use from my belongings!)...grins....and well seeing as nothing else worked i was "forced" (sighs, horrible life i assure you) to buy some more...and this time i opted for something more glam...

Enjoy.

I used pigments from ben NYE. A black gel liner, and a matte pale pink lipstick from revlon, to which i dusted a frosty pink eyeshadow over the top.

I applied potion primer from urban decay over my entire lid

then i put a bright gold green liner over the lid of my eye

Next i swept bright yellow pigment into the inner corner of the lid and slightly under too.

Using the bright apple green pigment i placed it slightly overlapping the yellow and onto the remaining third of the lid.

Using a pencil brush i put a hot pink in the crease and to the outer V of the eye.

Blend well....

Using a bright blue pencil liner, and a similar pigment line the bottom of the eye, creating a straight line towards the nose.

Curl lashes, apply mascara then fake lashes and the black gel liner to upper lashes.

Line the waterline with blue pencil, and fill in the brows.

Using a matte candy pink lip shade, fill in the lips, and set with a frosty pink eye shadow dabbed over top.

And finished face...
